Coronavirus (COVID-19): children's centre updates
Due to the current situation, our Children’s Centres have closed to the public. However:
- They'll remain open only for families who have an existing day care place or a midwifery appointment. If this applies to you, you’ll be notified.
- You can continue to access online sessions organised by the Children's Centres.
- You can ring any children's centre in the borough to join a food club.
We'll continue to monitor the situation closely, carefully and frequently and will keep this website updated.
Sure Start children's centres offer a range of support and services including:
Early learning and childcare - Affordable, quality early learning and childcare for all families.
Employment and training - Links to training and employment opportunities for families with children under 5 years old.
Family support - Home visits, support for parents, information and guidance on parenting and specialist support for families.
Health services - Antenatal advice, midwife sessions, dental care, speech therapists, breastfeeding, health and safety and help with healthy lifestyles.
Parent involvement - Parents can get involved in running the centres and have a say in the kinds of services offered.

How do I access services?
Each centre produces a monthly timetable of activities, run by qualified professionals. You can see each timetable for this month on the individual children's centre page, see list below.
Parents and carers are also encouraged to get involved with their local centre in parents' groups and forums where parents' views are taken into account and form part of the service provision.
